Rebirth

We will release a new project "Rebirth" that revives unwanted hat samples into a new one-of-a-kind.

Of the samples produced by Maison de Lilith over the past five years, we selected those in good condition from natural grass hats that could not be worn as they were due to deformation.
An initiative to upcycle the hat into a one-of-a-kind item that is even more valuable by dismantling it to the state of the material once with the hands of craftsmen, redesigning it so that it can shine as a new hat, and blowing it into life.
In addition to conveying the value of all handmade natural grass hat materials, which have become a limited resource due to the decrease in the number of craftsmen who can produce them,
The one-of-a-kind lineup creates a hat that has a unique presence.

As the 1st launch, 30 “ReBirth” hats will be sold exclusively at Firsthand.

I really think that a straw hat is a mysterious material.
The hand-knitted material is not a flat piece of fabric, but rather a three-dimensional shape created by weaving.
The sewing machine is only used when sewing the inner tape or when you want to shorten the brim.

A lot of the material is natural grass, so it can crack, and if you wear it for a long time, it will age. can be done.
Even so, it is not easy, and it takes a lot of time and effort to restore and recreate it, as well as the experience of craftsmen. That's why I haven't been able to get on with it until now.

Since it is hand-knitted, the number of craftsmen is decreasing and it is a material that can no longer be made every day. I wonder how long I can make such cute openwork knitting and pattern knitting.

All of the samples I made in the past that were in good condition that I could wear as they were were given to my daughter-in-law, but the samples that were out of shape or could not be worn as they were were too important to let go.
I would be so happy if it was reborn like this and many people wore it.

To be honest, I don't really like the word "sustainable".
I really feel that people in the field of manufacturing have been doing it as a matter of course since long ago, even if they don't add special words that will become fashionable.

Many things have changed because there was a time when mass production was considered good, but I think the most sustainable thing is to be able to make natural decisions without straining your shoulders (otherwise it won't last). .

Fashion exists emotionally for both those who make it and those who wear it.
Sometimes I'm told that I don't need it, but I like fashion that makes me feel rich, encourages me, and pushes me back.

Taking advantage of that advantage, we want to be able to take actions that we can naturally choose without unreasonableness for ourselves and the world.
